Similan Liveaboard Thailand: Dive the Best of the North Andaman Sea
Join a Similan liveaboard trip from Thailand and explore world-class dive sites around the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. This route is ideal for certified divers who want more dives, better access to remote sites and a true liveaboard experience in the Andaman Sea.
Why Choose a Similan Liveaboard?
A Similan liveaboard is one of the best ways to experience Thailand’s North Andaman diving route. Instead of doing long day trips from Phuket or Khao Lak, you stay on board, dive multiple sites each day and reach remote dive areas such as Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock more efficiently.
More Diving Time
Liveaboards are designed for divers who want several dives per day, including early morning dives and sunset or night dives when available.
Better Access to Top Sites
The North Andaman route usually covers the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock, depending on the boat schedule and weather conditions.
Good Value for Certified Divers
Accommodation, meals and diving are combined into one package, making liveaboards a practical option for divers who want to focus on diving.
Main Liveaboard Route
The classic Similan liveaboard route normally starts from the Phang Nga / Khao Lak area, often from Thap Lamu Pier, and travels through the North Andaman Sea. Exact routing can vary by boat, sea conditions, national park regulations and season.

Thap Lamu Pier → Similan Islands → Koh Bon → Koh Tachai → Richelieu Rock → Thap Lamu Pier

Sample 5 Days / 4 Nights Similan Liveaboard Itinerary
This is a sample itinerary for a North Andaman liveaboard route. Actual dive sites and dive order may change depending on weather, current, boat schedule and national park rules.
Day 1: Transfer to Pier / Boarding
Pick-up from Phuket, Khao Lak or nearby areas depending on the package. Board the liveaboard at Thap Lamu or assigned pier. Boat briefing, cabin check-in, equipment setup and departure.
Day 2: Similan Islands
Start diving around the Similan Islands. Typical dives may include reef dives, boulder formations and scenic coral sites. This day is usually ideal for check dives and underwater photography.
Day 3: Koh Bon / Koh Tachai
Continue north to Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, depending on the boat route. These sites can offer deeper profiles, stronger current and better chances for larger marine life when conditions are favorable.
Day 4: Richelieu Rock
Dive at Richelieu Rock, one of the most iconic dive sites in Thailand. Many liveaboard trips plan more than one dive here when conditions allow, because the site is rich in both macro life and wide-angle scenery.
Day 5: Final Dives / Return
Final morning dives depending on the boat schedule, then return to pier. Transfer back to Khao Lak or Phuket according to the package arrangement.
Best Season for Similan Liveaboard Diving

During the monsoon closure period, liveaboard routes to Similan, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock may not operate. Always check current opening dates and boat schedules before booking.
